A lot of Nigerians wish to work with foreign embassies in Nigeria but very few have a clue on how to go about it. Getting a job in an embassy is just like getting any other job but but the major issue most Nigerians face is that they do not know when there are vacancies in embassies so they literally think it is impossible to get a job there. Employment in an embassy is possible and we will show you how to go about that in this post.

HOW TO GET A JOB IN AN EMBASSY

I previously stated in the post that getting a job in a foreign embassy in Nigeria is just like getting any other job but it is important to know when the Job is out. If you wish to have a career in working with an embassy in Nigeria, do the following:

Locate the Career page of each embassy on it’s website: Most embassy websites have a career page where they do post available vacancies for the general public to see.For example, this is the career page for the U.S embassy and it looks like this

U.S embassy Career page
U.S Embassy Career Page

The U.K embassy website has a career page also known as the local recruitment page. If you are interested in getting an alert, then sign up and you will be alerted once there is a vacancy.Check the career page regularly so that you will know when there are vacancies.

Make sure you have the necessary requirements before applying: Embassies are strict with who they employ and at such there is little or no such thing as connection here. If you know you do not have the requirements listed for the job, then there is no need applying as they will not really consider you. Check previous embassy recruitment requirements and see if you can get the requirements before another vacancy is out.

Follow the Social Media Pages Of the Embassy You wish to work with:Some embassies do have social media pages hence it is necessary to follow them as that is one of the easiest ways to get a job alert.

HOW MUCH DO EMBASSIES PAY

Embassies pay well that is why a lot of Nigerians want to work with them. Some can pay as high as $1,000 monthly.
Every embassy has it’s own salary scale so it is necessary to look at that before applying.
